BIOGRAPHY

Born in Bournemouth Jeremy began singing as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral. He gained a music scholarship to Canford School and finished his formal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since 2003 his home has been in Sweden.

 

His repertoire includes The Protector/Written on Skin, Cecil/Maria Stuarda, Sid/Albert Herring, Don Giovanni, Il Conte/ Le Nozze di Figaro, Gianni Schicchi, Lescaut/Manon Lescaut, Gérard/Andrea Chénier, Belcore/L’elisir d’Amore, Zurga /Les Pêcheurs de Pêrles, Sharpless/Madama Butterfly, Escamillo/Carmen, Cecil/Gloriana, Germont/Traviata, Pangloss/Candide, Chou Enlai/Nixon in China, Marquis de la Force/Dialogues des Carmelites, Danilo/The Merry Widow, and Schauspieler/Der Ferne Klang, Orestes/Elektra, Foreman at the Mill/Jenufa at Opera houses such as The Royal Opera Covent Garden, The Royal Opera, Stockholm, Opera de Paris, Glyndebourne Festival and Touring Opera, Folkoperan Stockholm, Malmö Opera,  Stadsteater St Gallen, The Bolshoi Theater Moscow and Geneva Opera.

 

In concert he has performed Elgar’s The Kindom with The Royal Flemish Philharmonic under the batton of Martin Brabbins, Vaughan Willams’ Sea Symphony with the Huddersfield Choral Society and Tecwyn Evans, Bauer in Schönberg’s Gurrelider in the Östersjö Festival in Stockholm with Esa Pekka Salonen, Talpa in Il Tabarro and The Doctor in Pelléas et Mélisande with Daniel Harding and Written on Skin in both Shanghai and Beijing with Lawrence Rennes, Written on Skin in the Valetta Music Festival on Malta and Angelotti in Tosca and Phillipe in Rufus Wainwright’s Primadonna at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.

Season 24/25 he appeared as Foreman of the Mill/Jenufa, Judge Turpin/Sweeney Todd, Marcello/La Bohème and Il Conte/Le Nozze di Figaro all at the Royal Swedish Opera.

Since 2018 Jeremy has been a member of the ensemble at The Royal Opera in Stockholm and apart from his other  initatives  for the education and promotion of young singers he has been instrumental  in the start up, and will be closely involved in the running of the new Wall Studio, a new 2 year program for young opera singers at the Royal Swedish Opera.
